FACE MASK ART: https://pixels.com/profiles/laurel-adams/shop/face+masks
This original acrylic and colored pencil on Masa is one of a diptych study which continues to explore this ongoing fascinating Japanese felted rice paper. This will be an alternate choice offered to a friend for her Blue birthday gift from my heArt! While I think she will select Birthday Blues, this is a softer study with kisses of blush! Enjoy! I really like the product art from this piece! Postscript...this delicate felted rice paper and the ceremony of touching both sides of it is an even greater challenge in surrender. This paper and the ceremony of repeatedly distressing or “wounding” it asks even deeper questions... Then, much like cloud gazing and asking...IT forms for one’s eyes and dissipates. One must consent to close one’s eyes and dance within its heArt for a time, then release it! Far from being finished, It must be delicately fixed wet, crinkled side down to a backboard and revisited on its smooth side after a drying rest. The image(s) are then called forth anew. It’s scars are now barely visible yet necessarily pointing to a second glance...and often a different intended image. I must find a way to SEE and save the beauty of the wounds over the image.

Thank you so much Marsha…I will search out and pay closer attention to your works that work on Asian paper. It is such a delicate substrate.
