MASA Madness Collage
Artist
Laurel Adams
Medium
Painting - Indian Ink On Masa
Description
These in-process Indian ink originals on MASA were captured before drying, gluing on backboard and finish painted on the smooth side. I decided to post this in solidarity with artists: VIVA Anderson for her fearless b/w ink post today and Sarah Batalka’s FUN in-Process camping Post, complete with pink flamingo!
Great minds think alike... While playing with MASA yesterday and today, I brought out the 60+ year old bottle of my Dad’s Indian Ink from his draughtsman days...retrieved my favorite sticks from my college days and mix media played with masa, acrylic and stick and ink! This collage of the decaled quarter sheet for studies” was occasioned in response to the need for contest logo and entries tonight! Playing-Peek-a-Boo are the inkwashed 140 lb backing sheet pieces that are now supporting the delicate Masa papers. Only two were finished today...the rest remain for a later day!
This looks really great on product art! Such FUN.
MEDIA CREDIT: A word to dear Conni Schaftenaar for giving me (and us all) her MASA Paper tutorial in her description. This, along with her private email tips encouraged me to order some paper and PLAY with a new adventure ( which is destined along with wax based colored pencil to allow me to pursue my Art during those months when I cannot paint with Acrylic or other resin based media I enjoy). Thank you. Conni, for your kind, gracious and generous spirit.

Great use of this paper and ink, Laurel. I have mostly only crinkled masa paper and painted on that. Is Definately a new experience too! as the ink runs in the cracks..... L/f
