This original mixed media study of Indian ink and watered charvin acrylic on Masa was completed utilizing the full process of crinkling, dual sided ink application, gluing to a backing sheet and finishing on the smooth (not felted) side. As I am new to this process, I am so aware that, for me, this Japanese paper and technique demands leaving the exquisite attention to detail of colored pencil rendering behind in favor of “selective development” leaving the crinkle to take center stage. I plan to PLAY a lot more with this medium in the future!:))
MEDIA CREDIT: A word to dear Conni Schaftenaar for giving me (and us all) her MASA Paper tutorial in her description. This, along with her private email tips encouraged me to order some paper and PLAY with a new adventure ( which is destined along with wax based colored pencil to allow me to pursue my Art during those months when I cannot paint with Acrylic or other resin based media I enjoy).
