This original rendering is shown Colour Pencil finished on smooth side Masa paper up (with felt sided Masa paper washed with tea and acrylic and glued down onto 140 rough backboard.) The inspiration for this piece came from the upcoming departure of a spiritual friend who is leaving with her husband to enter retirement RVing throughout North America. When I asked her what she would like as an aesthetic memento of me she said something with Nature greens and blue bonnets. This challenges my desire to mind every detail and encourages letting go design to the wrinkles of the Masa and softly muting Colour while leaving some crinkle and raw textural beauty. And so...the journey beckons...the pathway into Light unfolds embraced by an honor Guard of blue bonnets and one is reminded of verse 64 of the Tao de Ching, “The journey of one thousand miles begins with a single step.” May you both step lightly on the earth, but leave loving energetic imprints in the hearts and minds of those you meet along the way. Godspeed, dear ones. Miss you already...
