This original colour pencil drawing was done tonite in Prismacolor Pencils for entry into Lori Moon’s Traditional Media Farm Animals Contest. Since moving to Kentucky, I have befriended Jenny Epperson, who for several years raised chickens and sold her eggs locally. While she did not raise Silver Spangled chickens, I began to research chicken types because her eggs were of BEAUTIFUL mixed colour which began my research. Also, I once was commissioned to draw a Spangled Chicken watercolour painting for an employee of my best friend’s husband for a wedding gift. And so...my fascination with this wonderfully feathered species of fowl! Here, I decided to present the ROOSTER in variations of this drawing ...b/w, and final painting. Love this stunning Rooster! I have six hens and they give me lots of eggs but the area where I live outlaws Roosters. They are by far the most beautiful and the neighbors don't like getting up that early in the morning. Your rooster kicks butt! Like the rest of your art!
