Description
Once upon a smile, if one climbs spearmint hill, there is a periwinkle blue sky peeking thru sugar-maple leaves that begin to flutter in rain-scented winds. Colours of Autumn sprawl as far as the eye can see in the sugar pumpkin fields below. Sassafras candy sticks sway in the Northerly winds that curl candied sheets with essences of spearmint and peppermint into ribbon candy at the foothills of the Bubblegum and Sugar Daddy Mountains. Candy cornstalks are ripening for Halloween harvest while bales of Reese’s peanut butter cups await the loading trucks. A sudden, mountainside syrup-shower kisses plump candied apples with a freshened layer of candy coating as they gleam in the light of an emerging rainbow. There is always a breath of MAGIC about when golden sunlight and long shadows beckon by day and early evening invites sweater-wrap squeezes in the days before Hallow's Eve. Don’t you agree?
NOTE: Within the controversial distinction of CP “drawing” or “painting” lies artist definition. My definition: when the surface is ENTIRELY burnished, I classify as a Painting; when any exposed Paper Is part of the composition or background, I classify as a drawing. I render both.
A HAIKU:
“Autumn sweets abound.
Magic colours turn to Joy!
Hear the sugar crunch!”
