This original colour pencil rendering came about due to my FAA photographer friend, Debra Lynch’s generosity. I have not only been graced by Debra’s helpful tips and assistance in my early transitioning to FAA, but we have also become friends. When she emailed me a copy of her “Summer Pom Poms” and said she LOVED my pencilwork...I mailed the original to her and she has given me permission to share the story and the follow on backstory with all of you. I find working white on white to be one of the most difficult artwork to successfully render and I asked if she wanted them in blue or even mauve and periwinkle?...No...she liked them just as they were! So, I printed two copies of this and PLAYED! This is the final version upload which I leave to viewer discretion as to which version is best liked. Obviously, the original and hand colored copies are not offered for priced work but here in virtual Laurelland...ALL IS POSSIBLE with FAA MAGIC!! Enjoy! Thanks Deb!
NOTE: Within the controversial distinction of CP “drawing” or “painting” lies artist definition. My definition: when the surface is ENTIRELY burnished, I classify as a Painting; when any exposed Paper Is part of the composition or background, I classify as a drawing. I render both.
