Painting - Watercolour
Description
This is one of several watercolour studies made to get the FEEL of a painting I finally rendered and gave a friend who traveled frequently to the French Canadian Rockies both to ski and to hike. While most of the others were discarded, this was kept to remind me of the Elemental Vastness that is impossible to render with human hands. When mountain peaks disappear into cloud, lake waters plummet to unknown depths, sheer Scale of mountain shape and misty veil cause great Pines to look like shrubs ...the glance helplessly captures blue, green and gray white slashes ...and offers up the Powerless prayer to the POWER which simply IS.
Echoes of my ...smallness... absorbed by Alaskan Denali Majesty and Colorado Rocky Mountain High lie in the lake melt of this study...and return as a cloudy alleluliah! SEE it’s triumph and my inadequacy.

Thanks so much Maria! Mountains are more Spirit than mass to my eye! I think that’s why I kept this study.

How charming, Laurel, Your mountains are most subtle in the brush strokes. created with the fewest strokes. I love this. f/l

It truly is, Randy. I feel most comfort in deep Silence which is so difficult to access in a noisy world. Forests and mountains have long been my sanctuaries.

The serenity and beauty of the moment is special in this world of spiritual essence. F/L.
