Mixed Media - Mix-colour Pencil/indian Ink
Description
This original Colour pencil/Indian ink finish on smooth side Masa paper (prepared with ink crinkle patterning on felted side back) is offered with minimal interference to showcase the Beautiful Crinkle of the Woods and reeds with their crinkled reflection. To date, this is my best example of SURRENDER and restraint to the EMERGENT WORKS of Masa Paper. It is my goal to develop a self-disciplined Reverence for THE WORKS EMERGING FROM THE WOUNDS of Masa Paper and be able to subtlely WITNESS and ASSIST in its co-creation rather than arrogantly DESTROY its delicate Beauty with my interference. In keeping with that awareness, the selective colour, yellow, offers the greatest contrast to black. It will be my guidepost! This is BEcoming a spiritual journey of many steps...May the Flow guide my thoughts, guard my heArt and Be my Light. And, so it is.
6/20/19- Honorable Lead Mention, Numinous Inks and Mix Contest. Thanks Conni for the tutorial descriptions in your Masa work and mixed media collages!

Many thanks Angela…check out Connie’s portfolio…she is the MASA paper queen! It is thru her Apple Blossoms that we really began such fun sending works in process back and forth and PLAYing weekly. Ideas share made into Real Time contests and then…the Artist BUZzz!

So glad your link from The ARTIST BUZZz group discussion on Techniques works now! This is VERY textural, and a great example of what can be done with Masa paper! Thanks for joining in the BUZZz on Techniques! L/F

Debra...many thanks for the visit and comments, Favorites, tweets too? ..you are such a dear. Even though we don’t live nearby, Masa Paper is WONDERful...check out the description tutorial given by Conni Schaftenaar in her Spring Apple Blossoms painting. She was largely responsible for my getting into Masa paper. She is in page six or seven of my watchlist...her descriptions inspire me to greater pursuits.

Laurel, This is such an exquisite work of art. Your techniques for creating textures and marks so support the sunlight and its reflections. Brilliant work : ))
