Medium
Mixed Media - Mix-indian Ink And Acrylic
Description
This original Indian ink and stick on MASA paper was finished tonight in REAL TIME for this DBCS MIXED MEDIA CONTEST on its original felted side (instead of turning it on its smooth side for batik colours coming thru) with a splash of Charvin Cadmium Red Acrylic. I almost want to add MASA as a “medium” because of the extensive process involved in working with this delicate rice paper. As I tend to work exclusively in one medium at a time, I developed several studies for this contest logo. ENJOY!
MEDIA CREDIT: A word to dear Conni Schaftenaar for giving me (and us all) her MASA Paper tutorial in her description. This, along with her private email tips encouraged me to order some paper and PLAY with a new adventure ( which is destined along with wax based colored pencil to allow me to pursue my Art during those months when I cannot paint with Acrylic or other resin based media which I enjoy). Thank you. Conni, for your kind, gracious and generous spirit.
A postscript...I am no longer used to filling every moment of my time “doing”; however, yesterday did not allow the usual “Spaciousness” to “be” with my art. Today, when I pulled up the mixed media contest to edit, ...this piece reflected back to me it’s story which is aptly named for the delicate Queen Anne’s lace into which the ink spread itself. Certainly, it needed the redder than in Nature “ heArt” that lies within each mature Quenn Anne’s Lace weed. I know this because my Aunt Jill gave me the magnifying glass, gently pointed out Patterns, educated me in Greater Process and always connected both with the Flow of Paradox at whose center is the One heArt! Thank you, thank you, thank you Aunty Jill for the ‘visit’ this day.

Thank you, Randy...this technique claims the final word, to be sure! I think I might be playing with it throughout the winter...I am fast approaching the narrow window I can return to acrylics...YAY!!
