Description
This original, mixed media, Neurographic Artscape (drawn with EW Inkpen and brush activated to release their cyans and mauves) was inspired by our Autumnal leaf peeping ride this week and reminiscences over our lifetime of favorite New England and upstate New York foliage traditions. Our current property is lined with sugar maple and oak trees and this year our maples went ALL out with the coral-crimson leafing…now slightly tipping a burgundy flare for my delight! My husband suggested we take a ride to enjoy a few side roads which have beautifully forested areas and off we went…only to find them bare from last week’s winds. As we drove into our development, our maples waved to us in the wind, welcoming us to the beauty of “home” and our conversation drifted to days of Connecticut yesteryear when we packed a picnic lunch and headed for what was then called “The Loop”. Heading onto 84, we traveled onto Rtes 197 thru Woodstock into Pomfret on 169 making certain we stopped at the Christmas Barn for another ceramic Heritage-Dickens, Christmas building collectible for Ma’s winter town before taking 198 back to close the loop. There was also a favorite apple, cider, and VT. Sharp cheddar cheese purchase in the plan for Sunday’s baking of either a homemade Apple crisp or apple pie to share with our family over a pot of coffee. The metallic accents and Neurographic style seemed to bring just the right touch of MAGIC to our ride down memory lane as we “visited with loved ones long departed” in the “insta-net” of mutually held recollections and storytelling. Do you have a WONDERful Autumn memory?…jump in our virtual car and travel down the road with me…your smile is waiting!
