Description
Today, my acrylic painting on resin involved a refurbishing project of four garden/planter decorative stakes, purchased so long ago, I can’t even remember. As I finished the leafy edges with iridescent metallic gold acrylic, I smiled at the elegant result which the birds will enjoy as they come for their morning ablutions and blueberry breakfast (while they are feeding young). My best friend and I have tea overlooking the courtyard wall that I designed to hold my herbs to the side and a long floral promenade which once held a Babylonian garden profusion of amazing sweet potato vines and now holds a heated bird bath and lush yearly cascades of lantana. Now, this may sound silly…however,…EVERY Spring, after we clear out the dried remains of last year’s plantings, (the birds make their nest from thyme or lavender clippings we cut for them) and as soon as the new year’s flowers are planted and the mulch is lightly spread,…they walk the long planter like actors on the red carpet…sometimes one by one, (often in pairs) checking out their Park. We’ve been here observing them for 13 years now and they continue their morning and evening walks, actually pausing and looking, as they leisurely…stroll! They even land on favorite stakes to queue for their baths. I wonder what they will think of their enhanced decor? Much like me, they aren’t crazy about new scents or positional changes. Tomorrow will be an amazing day!
I set these on a black vellum background to finish drying and couldn’t resist offering my day’s dalliance with beauty as a statement that FineArt may be found EVERYWHERE as long as loving the subject matter, getting lost in the medium and being creative inspires BEAUTY and appeals to viewers…even viewers with wings..:-)
