Thanks so much Sharon…they are a vintage flower once popular in New England gardens. They found their places with Sweet William , dianthus, etc. after bleeding heart and peony bushes were ending their bloom season. My pépère doted on mémère’s love of flowers and he had a terraced perrenial garden from which he would bring her daily nosegays. Her modest home had tiny, flower filled “vases” (repurposed pimento cheese jars) EVERYwhere! The winter after he died, Aunt Jill found a single red rose blooming on the hill and she cut it and gave it to her…
