Description
This Colour Pencil Original of daisies in a “glorious tangle” of meadow grasses was painted for a sweet lady at our local Sears store who recently helped me with my oven replacement details and is still running interference with my carpenter who has me in queue to re-customize the initially customized cabinet (because my beloved 36” oven Is no longer made, nor is the motherboard...sigh!) . I wanted to say a special thank you to her and she loves daisies...and also, there was a contest creation tonite that needed a fresh logo and so Delightful Daisies is dancing in the fields wearing many daisy hats! I was so enchanted with the Laurelland meadow visit that I am currently working on a companion piece ( for myself) featuring daisies and wild snapdragons...I didn’t want to get grubby and add clover, mustard weed, columbine and chicory...however, that IS how I remember the side of the road at pépère’s in Late Spring/early summer... He had the larger vegetable garden across the street adjacent to the babbling brook from which he and I would haul water occasionally for the more tender plants. I am slowly painting my way thru my treasured weekend childhood memories. Thank you, thank you Aunty, pépère and mémère! Que je vous aime toujours et je me souviens....et je vous manques tellement.
NOTE: Within the controversial distinction of CP “drawing” or “painting” lies artist definition. My definition: when the surface is ENTIRELY burnished, I classify as a Painting; when any exposed Paper Is part of the composition or background, I classify as a drawing. I render both.
